Margarita Posada

Margarita Posada is a sports nutritionist and anthropometry specialist whose work combines applied performance nutrition with education and digital innovation for practitioners. She is the Director of SistemaMP (October 2021–present), a self-employed project based in Jalisco, Mexico, focused on developing sports nutrition and anthropometry software for nutritionists and ISAK practitioners, alongside applied education in athlete fuelling and sports anthropometry.

She is also the founder of the Federación Mexicana de Nutrición Deportiva (FMND) (October 2012–present), helping to support professional standards and evidence-led practice within sports nutrition in Mexico. Alongside these roles, she leads applied practice through Margarita Posada Nutrición + Deporte and Clínica Medyarthros as Director of Sports Nutrition, delivering performance-focused nutritional planning and athlete support.

In elite football, Posada has worked in Major League Soccer as a sports nutritionist with the San Jose Earthquakes (March 2019–present), providing nutrition support and planning strategies aligned to the demands of training, competition, travel, and recovery. Her practical experience also includes work within Liga MX through Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas), reinforcing her expertise across both US and Mexican professional football environments.

Academically, she holds an MSc in Sports Nutrition from the University of Stirling (2015–2016), an IOC Diploma in Sports Nutrition (2012–2014), and a Licenciatura in Nutrition and Food Science from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City (1986–1991). She is an ISAK Level 3 Anthropometrist and is certified through professional Mexican nutrition bodies, reflecting a strong foundation in body composition assessment and athlete monitoring to support performance outcomes.
