Helen Bauhaus

Helen Bauhaus is a sports nutrition practitioner and scientific consultant whose work bridges elite sport, research, and product development across football and high-performance environments. She currently works in Switzerland as Product Manager (Medical) at Max Zeller Söhne AG (November 2025–present), contributing to medical-focused product strategy and development.

Alongside this role, she has built long-term experience as a freelance Scientific Consultant (January 2015–present), providing conceptual and strategic support to professional sports clubs, teams, and start-ups across supplement development, public health, and sports nutrition. Her consultancy work has included collaborations with organisations such as the DFB Akademie1. VfL OsnabrückRed Bull SalzburgYakultGoNoshAdidas Sports Base, and First Touch, where she has supported applied performance projects as well as science communication and education initiatives.

Bauhaus is also active in higher education. She has been a Lecturer at IST-Hochschule für Management (December 2021–present), and previously served as a Guest Lecturer at Goethe University (April 2023–September 2023), delivering MSc-level teaching in areas including medical and exercise-physiological aspects of nutrition sciences and applied nutrition sciences for sports science students.

Her applied elite-sport background includes working as a Sports Nutritionist at Olympiastützpunkt Rhein-Ruhr(January 2021–September 2023), providing nutritional support to Germany’s top athletes and national squads across multiple sports, with a focus on health, wellbeing, performance, recovery, and availability. Earlier in her career, she worked directly in professional football as a Sports Nutritionist at 1. FC Köln (July 2017–June 2018), supporting elite athletes in a club performance environment.

Her research pathway includes over six years at the German Sport University Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln), first as an Undergraduate Research Assistant (September 2017–November 2019) and later as a Postgraduate Research Associate (December 2019–September 2023), strengthening her ability to translate scientific evidence into practical, high-performance nutrition solutions.
