Fraser Stewart is a Scottish goalkeeping coach and coach-education specialist with a strong track record across academy football, national pathways, and international development work. A graduate of the University of the West of Scotland in Glasgow, he has built a career centred on goalkeeper methodology, long-term player development, and structured coach education within high-performance environments.
He is currently Head of Goalkeeping at Kilmarnock Football Club (since July 2022), leading the club’s goalkeeping programme and supporting performance delivery across the pathway. Prior to this, Fraser spent almost a decade with the Scottish Football Association, progressing from goalkeeping coach and staff tutor (Sep 2012–Aug 2017) to Head of Goalkeeping (Aug 2017–Jul 2022). In that senior FA role, he was responsible for the national goalkeeping pathway across Scotland’s national squads, the coach education pathway, and the performance school pathway, while also serving as a lead coach mentor within the Scottish FA’s PRIDE LAB performance coaching pathway. Alongside his FA work, he was Academy Goalkeeping Coach at Rangers FC (Sep 2014–Aug 2017), working with youth goalkeepers from U8 to U20 and supporting first-team sessions when required.
Fraser has also contributed to goalkeeper development beyond Scotland through extensive overseas coaching work (Aug 2008–Aug 2017), delivering goalkeeping and outfield coaching across international programmes in countries including Australia, Azerbaijan, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA, alongside part-time coach education on the goalkeeping pathway. He has additional academy experience as a goalkeeping coach with EDUSPORT Academy (Jan 2017–Aug 2017), supporting both the Edinburgh and Glasgow programmes, and his wider pathway includes youth goalkeeping experience linked to Aberdeen FC and goalkeeping coach involvement with New Zealand football structures.
He speaks English, holds a UEFA A Licence (Goalkeeping), and is recognised for his expertise in goalkeeper coach education and the design of integrated goalkeeping pathways from youth to elite performance.
