Eduardo Ribeiro Cachulo is a goalkeeper coach and academy specialist with a clear focus on youth development and modern goalkeeping methodology, supported by advanced study in data, scouting, and neuroscience.
He is currently Sub-coordinator of the Goalkeeping Academy and U18 Goalkeeper Coach at NEOM S.C. (July 2025–present) in Saudi Arabia, where he supports the delivery and alignment of the goalkeeping programme across the academy structure. Prior to this, he spent the 2024/25 season at Real Valladolid CF as an Assistant Goalkeeper Coach(July 2024–June 2025), gaining experience within a senior professional environment and contributing to the day-to-day goalkeeping support model.
Cachulo’s foundations were built in Portuguese football, including four years at Sport Lisboa e Benfica, working as a Goalkeeper Coach (U17) from July 2021 to June 2024, and previously as Goalkeeper Coach (U16 & U17) and Assistant Goalkeeper Coach (U23) from July 2020 to June 2021. Earlier in his pathway, he worked at Associação Académica de Coimbra – O.A.F. for three seasons, serving as Goalkeeper Coach (U19) and Head of the Goalkeeping Academy (July 2018–June 2020), after a role as Goalkeeper Coach (U16–U17) and Lead of Goalkeeping (U10–U13)(July 2017–June 2018). Across these posts, his profile reflects consistent responsibility for both on-pitch development and programme-level coordination.
Academically, he is affiliated with the Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal) and continues to expand his applied skill set through a Master in Big Data Applied to Scouting in Football (Sports Data Campus, March 2025–present; title awarded via UCAM Catholic University of Murcia) and a Professional Diploma in Neurobiology and Psychology in Team Sports (Barça Innovation Hub, 2025). He also holds goalkeeping qualifications including the UEFA Goalkeeping ‘B’ Licence (Scottish FA, issued April 2024) and additional talent identification education.
