Alen Velić (MSc) is a performance analysis leader and coach–analyst whose career blends elite opposition work, game-model driven training support, and academy-to-first-team development. With experience across Portugal, Greece, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia, he is recognised for building analysis structures that directly improve coaching decisions, player learning, and match preparation.

He is currently Head of Academy Performance Analysis at NEOM (since January 2025), leading the academy analysis department from U21 to U13 while also contributing to the NEOM SC U21 technical staff. In this role, Alen oversees how video, data, and feedback systems are designed and delivered across age groups—ensuring analysis supports both long-term player development and weekly performance objectives.

In 2024, Alen worked with UEFA as a Performance Analysis Coordinator (September–December 2024), adding experience at the governing-body level and strengthening his exposure to high-level operational standards and best practice in analysis workflows.

Prior to NEOM, he spent two seasons at Sporting Clube Farense (July 2022–August 2024) as 1st Team Assistant Coach and Head of Performance Analysis. During this period, Farense achieved promotion to Portugal’s top divisionand then successfully maintained first-division status, with Alen leading opponent/own-team analysis and integrating video feedback into training and match-day processes. Earlier, he worked in youth elite football with Olympiacos FC (U19) as an Assistant Coach (August 2021–July 2022), supporting session planning aligned to the game model and delivering pre-match, live, and post-match analysis plus individual development work.

His foundations in performance analysis were developed through roles at SC Braga (Performance Analyst, July 2020–September 2021) and Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Assistant Coach–Analyst with the B Team, July 2018–July 2020), where he combined analysis tools with training design and on-pitch implementation.

Alen’s academic background includes a Master’s in Sports Training (Football) from the University of Lisbon and a BSc (Hons) in Science and Football from Liverpool John Moores University. Fluent in Portuguese, English, and Serbian, he brings a clear communication style to multicultural environments. His content strengths sit in soccer-specific training, where analysis is used not just to describe performance, but to shape how teams train, prepare, and develop.
