Dr. Miguel Angél Campos

Dr. Miguel Ángel Campos is an elite football performance leader and academic, currently serving as Head of Performance at Bayer 04 Leverkusen (July 2025–present). Known for his expertise in training load monitoring and performance management, he helps clubs align data, coaching demands, and recovery to keep players available and performing at a high level.

Alongside his club work, Miguel has built a strong education profile as a long-standing ISSPF faculty member and key lecturer, contributing to multiple online courses and sharing applied insight from the professional game. He also held an academic role at the University of Pablo de Olavide (Seville) as an Associate Professor in football.

His applied pathway includes senior performance roles with Cádiz CF, Watford FC (Head of S&C), work as a Performance Strategist at Kitman Labs, and international experience with the Spanish FA youth national teams and the Algeria National Team, as well as spells at Granada CF, Levante UD, and UD Almería. Fluent in Spanish and English, he is recognised for connecting sport science to the practical realities of elite football.
