He is currently a Senior Sports Psychologist at Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar (August 2025–present), supporting developing and high-performing athletes with a focus on building the psychological skills and behaviours required for sustained excellence in both sport and life.
Prior to joining Aspire, Chris held a major leadership position within Australia’s high-performance sport network as Section Lead, Sport Psychology at the NSW Institute of Sport (January 2022–October 2025). In that role, he led the design and delivery of performance psychology services across NSWIS programmes and the national sport organisations it supports. During the same Olympic cycle, he also served as Senior Psychologist for Paddle Australia and Rowing Australia (January 2022–October 2025), leading psychology provision across National Training Centre environments and contributing to athlete preparation across the Paris 2024 cycle, including work connected to the Canoe Slalom National Centre of Excellence.
In professional football, Chris was Senior Psychologist at Derby County Football Club (February 2020–January 2022), where he led, built, and embedded a club-wide performance psychology programme designed to enhance on-pitch performance while supporting player and staff wellbeing. His broader football experience also includes affiliations with Sheffield United and Middlesbrough, strengthening his applied understanding of the day-to-day realities of performance environments across different club contexts.
Academically, Chris completed an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University (2010–2011) after earning a BSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Teesside University (2007–2010).
