Andrew Wiseman is a sports scientist and strength & conditioning coach with a career built in elite football environments across the UK and the United States. He is known for combining hands-on delivery with robust monitoring and data-led decision-making, supporting player development, availability, and performance across demanding competition schedules. Andrew is also an ISSPF faculty member, contributing practical insight and applied expertise to coach and practitioner education.
Most recently, Andrew worked at Arsenal FC Women (February 2023–June 2025) as a Sport Scientist / S&C Coach, supporting the physical preparation of players through structured strength and conditioning delivery, football-specific conditioning, and day-to-day load management. His work also includes leading return-to-play and reconditioning pathways, integrating gym-based and pitch-based progressions to support safe, effective reintegration after injury. Central to his approach is clear communication—using monitoring and performance analysis to provide actionable feedback to players, coaches, and multidisciplinary staff.
In addition to his club work, Andrew currently supports the Scottish Football Association (since September 2025) as a Sport Scientist, adding a federation-level dimension to his experience. Prior roles include U23 Sport Scientist at Queens Park Rangers, and senior performance leadership positions in the NWSL with Utah Royals (Head of Performance) and Seattle Reign FC (Director of Performance), where he built and delivered performance strategies, strengthened physical robustness, and supported teams through the unique demands of travel, scheduling, and elite competition.
Andrew’s academic background includes a PhD focused on mental health in elite football and a First Class BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, complemented by a UEFA B coaching licence. This blend of education and applied leadership underpins a profile that is equal parts practitioner and strategist—focused on developing footballers who are physically prepared, resilient, and consistently ready to perform.
