Alex Segovia Vilchez is an applied performance coach with international experience across academy systems, national-team pathways, and senior football environments, with a strong focus on youth athletic development and long-term player preparation. He is currently Lead Performance Coach at the Football Association of Singapore’s National Development Center (May 2024–present), supporting the physical development strategy and daily performance delivery within the country’s elite youth pathway. Alongside this role, he served as Performance Coach for the Singapore U16 National Team (June 2024–June 2025), contributing to age-group international preparation through training design, monitoring processes, and practical performance support.
Prior to Singapore, Segovia worked as Head of Performance at Budapest Honvéd FC (June 2022–May 2023), overseeing performance planning and physical preparation within a senior professional environment. His earlier club roles include Performance Coach at Fatih Karagümrük SK in Türkiye (June 2021–December 2021) and Strength & Conditioning Coach at Trabzonspor (October 2020–June 2021), where his work included prehabilitation and injury-prevention strategies within an elite setting. He was part of the staff during the period in which Trabzonspor won the Turkish Super Cup in 2020.
Segovia has also contributed to coach education through his work with the International Soccer Science & Performance Federation (ISSPF), where he served as a Lecturer (August 2020–August 2022). Within ISSPF, his teaching was centred on Youth Soccer Athletic Development (LTAD), supporting practitioners to build academy performance models and improve training design and application for youth development environments—bridging athletic development principles with football-specific methodology and the realities of academy coaching.
Academically, he studied at Miguel Hernández University and Pablo de Olavide University, and completed a Máster in Football Conditioning and Rehabilitation at Universidad Pablo de Olavide (2013–2014).
